Why we’re doing this

We created this exhibition to highlight resources about Black Solidarity Day and provide broad access to them while our collections remain largely closed. We hope that this exhibition provides a space for learning, reflection, and inspiration for viewers.

Where the materials come from

Materials in this exhibition come from collections held by NYU Special Collections, as well as materials contributed by community members, activists, and organizers of Black Solidarity Day celebrations across New York City and beyond. We encourage you to submit materials you have for inclusion in the exhibition. For more, see the “Contribute” section of our Get Involved page.

If you hold the rights to materials in our exhibit that are unattributed, please let us know so that we may maintain accurate information about these materials. If you are a rights holder and are concerned that you have found material on this website for which you have not granted permission (or is not covered by a copyright exception under U.S. copyright laws), you may request the removal of the material from our site by submitting a notice to special.collections@nyu.edu. Please see NYU Libraries’ Takedown Policy for more information.
